Overview:

A yet2 client is seeking novel technology platforms, mechanisms or raw materials, that effectively inhibit the odourous molecules to ultimately reduce the malodour.

The potential solution would be incorporated into the client’s existing formulation as an additional technology to extend the duration of odor reduction effectiveness.

Background:

Malodour, whether originating from microbial/bacteria metabolism, VOCs, breakdown of organic matter, fungi, chemicals and other sources, can have a profound impact on an individual’s daily life. Traditional approaches to addressing malodour often rely on masking fragrances or harsh chemicals, which may not provide long-lasting or sustainable solutions.

Possible Solution Areas:

  • Malodour encapsulation technologies
  • Odour-neutralising polymers or ingredients – for example zinc-based compounds
  • Specifically designed Natural Absorbents targeting odourant compound
  • Enzyme based
  • Prebiotic/microbiome approaches

Constraints:

  • Solutions should not have an influence on the fragrance when incorporated into the client’s existing formulation.
  • Antimicrobial solutions are out of scope for this challenge
  • Silicone-based ingredients

Desired outcome of the solution:

The client is open to all types of partnerships. Proposed solutions should be available in sample-level volumes for initial testing and evaluation. Proof of concept data within respective field of application should be available.
